The first demonstration of the effectiveness of localised current drive, using Ion Cyclotron Current Drive (ICCD), for prevention of m = 3, n = 2 Neoclassical Tearing Modes (NTMs) by shortening of fast ion stabilised sawteeth is reported. The experiments were carried out in reactor relevant conditions with bpol well above marginal stability and a strong central fast ion component.
