A database containing global energy confinement data for JET ohmic plasmas from the campaigns 1984-92 has been established. This paper presents an analysis of this database and compares the results with data from other tokamaks such as ASDEX, FTU and lORE SUPRA. The trends of JET ohmic confinement appear to be similar to that observed on other tokamaks.
