JET is a large D-shaped tokamak with major radius Ro = 2.96m, minor radius a = 1.25m, nominal toroidal field BT = 3.4T, plasma current Ip up to 7MA and plasma elongation up to 1.6. A schematic of the laser blow-off impurity injection system is shown in figure 1.
